The safety of our employees, clients, subcontractors and the public is our number one core value at Flatiron. We empower every employee with the responsibility of maintaining safe worksites. Our mandatory safety training is vigorous and leads to measurable results.
Flatiron is OHSAS 18001 certified. In 2012, Flatiron's safety management system achieved Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series 18001:2007 certification from an independent auditing firm. The OHSAS 18001 certification is an internationally recognized occupational health and safety management system standard. This certification demonstrates that Flatiron programs and policies eliminate or minimize risk to employees and others who may be exposed to occupational health and safety risks associated with Flatiron activities.
Flatiron has an award-winning, nationally recognized safety program. The Associated General Contractors of America has recognized Flatiron numerous times with their top safety excellence awards, deeming our programs among the best in the nation. In 2012, Flatiron earned the First Place AGC Safety Excellence Award from the AGC of America in the Highway Division, Over One Million Man-Hours category.

Flatiron is ISO 14001 certified. Flatiron is committed to environmental responsibility and leadership at all levels of our organization. In 2012, Flatiron attained International Standardization Organization 14001:2004 certification for environmental management from an independent auditing firm. The ISO 14001 is a globally accepted standard for environmental management systems, and provides a framework to further help us meet our environmental obligations and reduce the impact of our operations on the environment.
