The Automated People Mover at Los Angeles International Airport is an elevated driverless transit system that includes six stations, three inside the airport terminal loop and three outside the airport, along a 2.25-mile alignment. The route will connect travelers and employees to new Intermodal Transfer Facilities, the new Consolidated Rental Car Facility and the LA Metro transit network at the Airport Metro Connector Station.
Each of the electric-powered trains can transport as many as 200 people at a time and up to 10,000 passengers per hour. Los Angeles World Airports anticipates that it will carry 85 million passengers per year and will be ready to welcome the 2028 Summer Olympics.
