Dave Jones, Mid-Atlantic Safety Manager, wins Prestigious Safety Award

“Passionate,” “tenacious” and “driven” are just a few of the terms coworkers used to describe Dave Jones, Mid-Atlantic Safety Manager.

In August 2021, Dave received the 2021 Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Award of Excellence after being nominated by a former coworker whom he mentored at a previous job.

Throughout his time at Flatiron, Dave has made a vast impact on the safety program, perpetuating a safe, thriving environment for each and every employee.

“I have known Dave Jones professionally for 25 years. His main goal has always been upholding the health and safety of his employees,” says Larry Purvis, Health and Safety Manager. “His guidance in the Mid-Atlantic division has immensely unified and strengthened the safety program. While he is an outstanding safety professional, I have found him to be an even better man and friend.”

Sponsored by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, Dave was selected to receive this award based on his outstanding leadership, knowledgeable expertise and commitment to the advancement of the safety, health and environmental profession.

For Dave, safety extends far beyond his team. From field workers, to divisional leaders, Dave educates each and every employee on all things safety.

“In the three years I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dave, he has always demonstrated his extensive knowledge and extreme passion, not just as a safety professional, but as a Flatiron leader,” says John Hendrickson, Area Operations Manager. “Dave has always been there for me with answers, suggestions, feedback and support.
