Sven Stranzenbach
Senior Vice President – Risk Management & Sustainability
Sven leads Flatiron’s risk management, insurance and sustainability programs. In this role, he leads efforts to ensure appropriate terms for project contracts — establishing and maintaining a profitable project portfolio with balanced risk. Plus, he develops insurance strategies to protect Flatiron.
Sven also is responsible for Flatiron’s Sustainability and Environmental-Social-Governance commitments. Under his leadership, Flatiron created the Flatiron Sustainability Plan providing a roadmap to a cleaner planet, stronger communities, ethical business principles and long-term financial stability for the company.
Following five years with Flatiron’s parent company, HOCHTIEF, Sven joined Flatiron in 2008 as Director of Finance. During his career, he has led various finance, risk management and operations roles in Europe and North America.
Sven earned a Diploma degree in Civil Engineering from RWTH Aachen University in Germany and a Master of Science degree in Construction Management and Economics from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
