Denver International Airport Taxiway Expansion Project Finishes Early

New taxiway and deicing pad will cut down on delays

The Taxiway DS East project at Concourse C, which will provide travelers with a newly expanded taxiway, additional deicing spots and new space for storing snow removal equipment, has been turned over to Denver International Airport ahead of schedule.

DEN’s remarkable growth over the years introduced many new challenges. Forty million travelers passed through the facility in the first six months of this year. Among the challenges is building sufficient ice removal infrastructure to ensure planes can take off quickly and safely during the snowy winter months.  This new infrastructure will allow planes to get to their destinations faster by storing equipment closer to the concourse.
