Construction Dive Names Flatiron Champion for Tradeswoman Leadership

Construction Dive named Brenda Santana a 2025 Construction Champion in the Tradeswoman Leader category, honoring her commitment to mentorship, advocacy and leadership.

“I chose construction because it offers stability, opportunity and endless room to learn and grow, “says Brenda. “No two days are the same — there’s always a new challenge to tackle and a new way to improve. Even when repeating a task, there’s space for innovation and fresh thinking.”

Brenda is known for her professionalism, attention to safety and ability to uplift those around her. Beyond the worksite, she actively supports women entering the industry, speaking at apprenticeship graduations, as well as mentoring and serving as a panelist at industry events. She also works closely with local laborer training schools to encourage more women to pursue careers in construction.

Her drive for personal and professional growth is equally inspiring. She is pursuing her Construction Health and Safety Technician certification to advance her goal of becoming a safety manager. As a single mother, she has raised two children — her daughter recently graduated from the University of California Irvine Law School, and her son is a college-bound high school senior.

FlatironDragados congratulates Brenda on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her invaluable contributions to our company and the broader construction community.
