Flatiron is conducting vital repair work for areas badly damaged by the East Troublesome Fire, which devastated parts of Northern Colorado in the fall of 2020. This is our first project serving Northern Water, a key water provider in Colorado.
We’re removing dead timber to reduce the chances of fire debris and other contaminants entering the water supply. Flatiron is also using a quarry to produce riprap to construct check dams and for future slope stabilization. These important structures channel water to area bodies of water, and cut down on erosion. They also filter out debris, and keep sediment in place. Thousands of yards of rock will ultimately be used to lay down the riprap.
